Green Corps

GREEN CORPS

The Green Corps – Young Australians for the Environment Program is a youth initiative of the Commonwealth Government administered by the Department of Employment and Work Place Relations and delivered through Job Futures and Greening Australia.

IMPACT Make Your Mark is a Delivery Agency for Green Corps, responsible for:

  • Managing and delivering program requirements with respect to each approved Green Corps project
  • Recruiting, support and supervising the team leader for an approved Green Corps projectmiara6 005 copy.jpg
  • Entering into agreements with partner agencies for the management and delivery of parts of an approved Green Corps project
  • Recruiting and training participants
  • Managing participant welfare for each project delivered
  • Supervising environmental, heritage and other work undertaken by Green Corps teams
  • Managing the quality of delivery of Green Corps projects

Partner agencies work with IMPACT Make Your Mark to ensure the success of approved projects. It is expected that Partner Agencies will have an interest in seeing significant environment or heritage work being undertaken by Green Corps team members. Partner Agencies will generally be required to contribute proposals for environment/heritage work to be undertaken and to assist in the provision of equipment and technical expertise to the Green Corps Delivery Agency in relation to that Green Corps project.

Green Corps offers young people aged between 17 to 20, an opportunity to receive accredited training while participating in 26-week projects thatmiara6 013 copy.jpg contribute to environmental and cultural heritage development. Training includes accredited units from the Certificate in Conservation and Land Management, with team members also gaining valuable experience and skills while being involved in on the job project activities.

Team members receive an allowance, accredited training, environmental experience and the opportunity to make an impact on Australia’s cultural and environmental heritage plus meet other young people.
