WHAT
YOU DO MAKES A DIFFERENCE
.....since participating
in the service it has cleared up a lot of confusion about what has
happened to us as a family living with mental illness.
IMPACT's Mental
Health Carers Support Service uses a recovery approach by
supporting people who care about someone experiencing mental
illness by identifying strengths and support strategies to promote
wellness.
Personalised
Support
Everyone's experience of
mental illness is unique. For those living with or caring
about someone with a mental illness, support will focus on each
person's individual strengths and needs - information will be
provided on a range of mental health issues such as stress
management, early intervention and includes information about
different mental illnesses like depression, bi-polar, schizophrenia
etc, counselling services, relationships, advocacy, social and peer
support.
Chillin'
Young people aged 11 to 17
years mix with peers who are also coping with similar experiences.
The activities are fun and provide support and time out from
regular routines. Activities are designed to help improve
home, school and social life. A free pick up and drop off
service is provided.
Mon
Ro'es Kidz Club
Offers support for primary
school aged children to learn about mental illness in a safe and
fun environment with activities to help build bonds, friendship and
