PERSONAL SUPPORT
PROGRAMME (PSP)
The
Personal Support Programme (PSP) is an initiative of The Australian
Government, administered by the Department of Employment and Work
Place Relations.
People participating in
the Personal Support Programme will need to be deemed as eligible
by Centrelink. They will be assessed for suitability and referred
to IMPACT Make Your Mark by Centrelink. The purpose of the
programme is to provide assistance to people with multiple,
non-vocational barriers that enables them to achieve outcomes
relevant and meaningful to them.
IMPACT Make Your Mark
employ experienced and caring staff who will create a relaxing,
safe and non judgemental environment.
A PSP participant
will:
- Be
referred by Centrelink
- Have an
Individual Action Plan designed to meet their needs
- Be offered
assistance for up to two years
Practical
support will be available and may include:
- Assistance
to find suitable accommodation and transport
- Transport
to medical, dental and other community services
- Monthly
workshops – Personal development eg communication skills,
self-esteem, budgeting, motivation and goal setting
- Assistance
to access learning opportunities
- Advice on
how and where to access government and community services for
counselling and health purposes
- How to
become a valuable community volunteer
- Assistance
to undertake work experience to gain confidence and work
skills
- Assistance
and mentoring on how to successfully enter the workforce. Jobsearch

on where and how to access health and community
services
- Guidance
on how to achieve personal happiness
