IMPACT training services is set to run its first online courses as it adapts to support key industries where there is a high demand for skilled workers across the Bundaberg region.

The onset of COVID-19 has dramatically changed the world of training and IMPACT Community Services has been quick to pivot and, utilising technology, provide a more flexible training approach for the disability and aged care sectors.

Many people across the region are re-assessing their futures in the wake of the pandemic and are exploring training courses to either upgrade skills or switch career path.

IMPACT’s Training Services Manager Bronwyn Quaile said with COVID-19 curbing face-to-face interactions, IMPACT was transitioning its Certificate III courses to an online mode.

Earlier this week, the organisation, which is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO code 0115), ran its first online information session for its CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) course, which starts April 27.

Ms Quaile said there was a good turnout with the session run through the Microsoft Teams platform.

“There was a Q&A panel down the side so participants were able to ask questions,” Ms Quaile said.

She said as the organisation expanded its online offering it would continue to work with students to improve the service and help them achieve their goals.

“Our live online training is very different from self-paced online study,” Ms Quaile said.

IMPACT is now processing applicants for its upcoming courses.

“We’ve got a good number of people signing up, but if there is anyone else considering the disability course, or one of the others starting this month, I’d encourage them to contact us as soon as possible,” Ms Quaile said.

An information session covering all upcoming courses will be held on Tuesday, April 14 at 9.30am.

To attend this interactive live session, phone 4153 4233 and ask for Robyn or Bec or email training@impact.org.au to receive the link.

Potential students can also talk to IMPACT about the technological requirements for each course.

IMPACT has a team of skilled trainers who are all experienced in their field of expertise and have strong industry connections.
