I am the current state Member for Bundaberg and was previously employed as a police officer for over 23 years.

During my time in the police I rose to the rank of Sergeant and I managed the Bundaberg PCYC.

In 2008, I was elected to the Bundaberg Regional Council.

In 2012, during my second term, I was elected Deputy Mayor and in 2016 I was re-elected for my third term where I had the portfolio of Sport, Recreation, Venues & Disaster Management.

Before being elected to the Queensland Parliament, I was the Deputy Chair of the Local Disaster Management Group and the Local Recovery Co-ordinator for the January 2013 disaster events within the district.

I was honoured to receive Rotary's Paul Harris Fellow for my leadership shown in the 2010/11 flood events when I was the Acting Chair of the Local Disaster Management Group.

I am a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and I hold an Advanced Diploma of Public Safety (Emergency Management), a Diploma of Local Govt (Administration) along with a Diploma in Policing and an Advanced Diploma in Investigative Practices. 

I have a passion for sport and recreation and all things community and am involved in several other local community organisations along with IMPACT, including Bundaberg PCYC, Across the Waves Sports Club and I'm on the board of Shalom College.
