Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS)

Are you looking for companionship and connection?

We understand that everyone longs for companionship and connection, and we want you to know that you are not alone. If you are seeking company, whether it be for a conversation, a shared activity, or simply a friendly presence, we want to extend a warm invitation to you.

At IMPACT Community Services, we believe in the power of human connection and the positive impact it can have on our lives. We have a dedicated team of volunteers who are ready to offer their time and companionship to brighten your day. Whether you are a senior in an aged care facility or someone who is experiencing social isolation, we are here for you.

We encourage you to reach out to us and let us know about your needs and preferences. Our volunteers are compassionate, understanding, and eager to engage in meaningful conversations, share stories, or participate in activities that bring joy and laughter. We want to create an environment where you feel valued, heard, and connected.

Volunteer today - feel great tomorrow!

If you have a little spare time, would like to make a new friend or change someone’s life for the better, talk to us today about volunteering in the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) formally the Community Visitors Scheme (CVS). This friendship program is about linking volunteer visitors with people who live in aged care facilities throughout the Bundaberg and Burnett regions.

Our volunteers take great pride in becoming a regular friendly visitor and enriching the quality of life of these people. Perhaps you’ll enjoy having a game of cards, listening to music, playing a board game, taking a short walk outside, help to write letters, reminisce about days gone by or simply have a chat and a cuppa. We ask that you are able to visit a minimum of once a fortnight and spend time doing what you both enjoy.

IMPACT’s ACVVS is a valuable community volunteering opportunity that has been improving the lives of our isolated aged for more than 30 years.

What is the ACVVS?

The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) holds a special place in our hearts at IMPACT Community Services. It is an initiative funded by the Australian Government, designed to address the social and emotional needs of older Australians residing in aged care facilities. ACVVS connects dedicated volunteers with seniors who may be experiencing social isolation or loneliness.

The Power of Personal Connection

At IMPACT Community Services, we believe that personal connection can change lives. As a volunteer visitor, you have the extraordinary opportunity to brighten the lives of aged care residents through companionship and heartfelt conversations. Your visits create a world of warmth, comfort, and laughter, helping to alleviate the burden of isolation that our seniors may face.

Benefits of the ACVVS: Transforming Lives Together

The ACVVS brings a multitude of benefits to both the elderly individuals and the compassionate volunteers who join us on this meaningful journey:
