With the onset of Covid-19 crisis it is now more relevant than ever that cleaning, chemical usage and surface preparation is so important to the health and safety of us all.

Cleaning Course Summary:

  • Cleaning to maintain food hygiene, a healthy environment, control pests and for overall general presentation
  • Tools for cleaning including cleaning chemical correct use and safety, cleaning equipment use and care, and the most efficient use of those chemicals and equipment.
  • Cleaning routines – logical sequencing and scheduling to ensure nothing is missed and cleaning is done in an efficient and timely manner
  • Safety – how to ensure the safety of the cleaner and their co-workers

Wendy's Experience

  • Wendy has had extensive experience working in or managing commercial kitchens including restaurants, cafes, aged care and hospital settings.
  • Owned and operated 2 motel businesses across 15 years which included hands on and supervision of cleaning of the rooms, kitchens, restaurants, conference facility and public areas within the complexes.
  • Formal training via TAFE including Associate Diploma in Hospitality and Food Safety Supervisor accreditation.
  • Worked as a Trainer for several community based organisations and TAFE.  Units taught include Hospitality Housekeeping, Food Hygiene units, Clean Kitchen Premises and Equipment.
  • Was an owner operator of several Food outlets ensuring the adherence to local council Food License requirements  which stem from the Food Act 2006 and the Food Regulations.
